Abstract

The purpose of this investigation was focused on interpreting the scope of the criminological vision of organized crime in Colombia, Brazil, Guatemala and Venezuela. Under a qualitative postpositive approach, cataloged by its socio-legal documentary nature, using the comparative method as central support. Due to the amount of bibliographic material consulted, the deductive analytical method serves as a strategy to carry out the analysis of the selected categories. Additionally, it is based on an interpretive-critical and bibliographic design. It is clear from the analysis carried out that the four countries examined have dealt with legislating on organized crime, issuing legal instruments that support the regulatory legal framework in this area, in order to manage the existing problem, which has not been minimized, because the economic interests deprive over the interest of eradicating that terrible scourge in the different nations of the world. Finally, the four countries share the same situation with respect to the criminological vision of organized crime, with some of the most common manifestations in some than in other states. Precisely, this situation makes them a threat to international security, as it constitutes a refuge and a field of operations for organized crime, in all its aspects.
