Camera traps, a window into wildlife in nature reserves. Literature review and trends
Abstract
The accelerated technological innovation, the boom, and the economic value today of camera traps, have allowed techniques such as photo trapping, to detect wildlife in areas named as nature reserves, generating records of high interest from the capture of images and videos through photographic equipment and other elements such as motion sensors, Digital cameras, memory card, infrared and batteries. This technique is used in various wildlife research, environmental education and species control. Therefore, this research conducts a literature review that shows the relationships between different keywords, indicating relevant knowledge about camera traps and the detection of animal life. A search of different documents was made in the WoS database and the same in Scopus with a range of dates between 2005 and 2022, in turn, search techniques, different digital tools of bibliometrics and network analysis were used, identifying two research clusters. Finally, future research is delivered.
