Abstract

Psycholinguistics, or PNL (Natural Language Processing), encompasses various facets, including the computational aspect. It is a science that integrates computer science as well as artificial intelligence in the pursuit of studying and developing models and algorithms that simulate aspects of human language processing. However, it is worth noting that society faces a current issue stemming from the complexity of merging the understanding of human language, as addressed in psycholinguistics, with the creation and improvement of artificial intelligence systems. Therefore, the overall objective of this research was to Unraveling Language: Exploring the Impact of NLP in the Era of Artificial Intelligence. For the development of this theme, the qualitative paradigm was employed, with a descriptive, bibliographic, and hermeneutic approach that allowed for obtaining relevant results. An unstoppable study of the role of psycholinguistics in AI emerged, as it has the potential to drive significant advances in the field, enhancing the ability of AI systems to comprehend and use language more effectively, benefiting various applications from virtual assistants to sentiment analysis and automatic translation. In conclusion, computational psycholinguistics plays an essential role in artificial intelligence by combining cognitive psychology and linguistics with computer science and artificial intelligence. Its advancements have improved human-machine communication, furthered the understanding of human language, and found practical applications in various areas of artificial intelligence. The future of computational psycholinguistics is promising and will continue to drive the development of more sophisticated and efficient natural language processing systems.
