Preface
Impact of ergonomics on the teaching profession
Abstract
According to scholars, ergonomics in the teaching context refers not only to the physical design of work spaces, but also to the organization of tasks, psychosocial factors and pedagogical tools. In this sense, by focusing on the improvement of working conditions, ergonomics has the potential to improve performance, reduce occupational diseases and increase job satisfaction of teachers or learning facilitators.
It is important to note that, in teaching, ergonomic problems often result from long working hours in static postures, intensive use of electronic devices and the psychological pressure associated with pedagogical responsibility. Therefore, it is considered that without proper attention to these factors, teachers may develop musculoskeletal disorders, visual fatigue and chronic stress, which directly impacts their ability to teach effectively.
