Raising awareness about the use of artificial intelligence in educational practice

This paper aimed to discuss the necessary ethical awareness for the use of artificial intelligence in educational practice. A research protocol was implemented, forming a documentary study supported by a qualitative approach, using operational techniques to manipulate documentary research sources. Among the results, it was determined that artificial intelligence is a tool that can tend to replicate human behaviors with a technological basis, and that ethically it presents several challenges, especially important in education, where the role of actors in educational communities, such as teachers and students, is crucial. It was concluded that the incorporation and ethical awareness of artificial intelligence in education requires a framework of human governance, since it is not enough for the technology to be effective and efficient; it must also be explainable, transparent, and equitable.
