Methodology for the documentary review and curricular update of university careers

Abstract

This article consists of a documentary review methodology of several states of art that consists of the curricular updates of a university career. This study intends to be a consultation document about the processes of updating university careers based on various curricular approaches and quality of education. The study presents the analysis, compilation and description of curricular experiences with the focus on competencies and university accreditation, among other elements that can be considered part of a process of change or institutional reform in academic, curricular and pedagogical matters. Methodologically, the research was developed in the following phases: (1) Bibliographic review of publications and articles accessed in Google Scholar published between the years 2017-2020. (2) Selection of criteria such as: author, titles, year, country and university. (3) The review and selection are 50 articles due to the context to the title and importance of the topic and above all to the contribution of scientific-academic interest. The results obtained allowed us to conclude that the documents constitute an important source of data for a researcher, articulating the macro to the micro, the institutional level with the program level and as conceptual support for the design or curricular adjustment.
