Pedagogical resignification of the learning guides in the contemporary school for the construction of a healthy life

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the pedagogical resignification of the learning guides in the contemporary school for the construction of a healthy life, through the analysis of the experiences of the guidance teachers of the province of Veraguas, the experiences of the teachers were collected through a structured interview which was focused on gathering information about the current significance of the guides skills for the life of peace. Teachers from the province of Veraguas recognized the importance of skill guides for peaceful living, as a tool that fosters a culture of peace and promotes student autonomy. The guides are applied using different strategies, however, the teachers feel that a resignification process of these guides is necessary, since they mention that the students require a comprehensive intervention, because the students face personal situations of a social, economic, emotional nature, which affect the assimilation of content. Therefore, the guides must be applied trying to achieve an approach to the student, addressing their emotional, cognitive and social situation, this approach must allow the student to apply the skills that the guides promote as an alternative that helps them overcome their difficulties and allow it to reach full development. In other words, the learning guides must go from being knowledge, to being transforming agents that help the student to overcome their difficulties, from the values ​​of the culture of peace.
